Northern Nevada HomeShare matches older adults with a spare room (“Hosts”) with people seeking affordable housing (“Guests”). It’s a simple idea with real impact—helping people stay in their homes, reduce living costs, and build meaningful connections.
For Hosts:
You can earn supplemental income, enjoy companionship, or get help with light household tasks or caregiving, based on what works for you.
For Guests:
You get access to more affordable housing and the opportunity to live in a supportive, community-based environment.
Center for Healthy Aging handles the details to make the process safe and comfortable. All participants complete background and credit checks, along with one-on-one interviews. We carefully match Hosts and Guests based on lifestyle, preferences, and needs, and you’ll have a chance to meet before making any decisions.
We also provide a clear lease agreement and stay involved to offer support along the way.
